José Carballido is an Argentinian paleontologist, and is a researcher for CONICET working at the Paleontological Museum Egidio Feruglio (MEF) in Trelew, Chubut. He specialises in the evolution of sauropods from the Late Jurassic and Cretaceous.
José gained his Bachelors degree in 2007 from the National University of Mar del Plata in the province of Buenos Aires, and received his PhD from the National University of Comahue in 2012, both in Argentina.
Through his studies and work, he has been able to travel across Argentina, and to Germany.
José has helped describe a number of dinosaurs, and was one of the paleontologists from the MEF who described the largest dinosaur discovered, Patagotitan mayorum.
