Gregory S. Paul is an American artist and researcher who specializes in paleontology-related art, especially of dinosaurs.
He was born in Washington, DC, in the United States, and and lived in the area since then. He grew up interested in dinosaurs, especially drawing them. He is currently an independent artist who is contracted by a number of institutions and organizations to either illustrate dinosaurs or help set up museum exhibits. He has been involved with a number of films, documentaries, television shows, books, and museum exhibits.
He is credited with creating the modern look of dinosaurs, beginning in the 1970s, which he achieved through thorough study of skeletal specimens and scientific techniques. This look he calls the "Greg Paul Look".
He has helped describe/name seven dinosaurs, and two dinosaurs (Stellacoxa pauli and Cryptovolans pauli) were named after him.
