Leonardo Salgado is an Argentinian paleontologist, specialising in sauropods, especially rebbachisauridae.
He was born in Argentina(?) in 1939. He received his doctorate in 1962 at the National University of La Plata in the province of Buenos Aires. Leonardo currently works for the Museum of Geology and Paleontology at the National University of Comahue in the city of Buenos Aires.
He has described a number of dinosaurs, most famously Giganotosaurus with Rodolfo Coria in 1996, and the first dinosaur ever discovered in Antarctica, Antarctopelta, in 2006 with Zulma Brandoni de Gasparini.
He has a species named after him: Bonitasaura salgadoi.
