Luiz Anelli is a Brazilian paleontologist specialising in Brazilian and Antarctic invertebrates. He is a professor at the Universidade de São Paulo, and the coordinator of the university's Replica Workshop.
He obtained his Bachelors degree from the Universidade Estadual de Londrina in 1989, and his Masters (1994) and PhD (1999) from the Universidade de São Paulo.
Luiz is known for his advocacy of teaching paleontology in schools, especially focusing on the importance of paleontology in South America.
